Create & craft wood flowers that will last a lifetime!
With all the dye leftover from Easter egg dyeing, we wanted to use some of those bright colors in some creative ways! What better way to display the colors than some diy wood flowers that will last far longer than real flowers?
Throw some dye in cups or whatever you have handy and drop some joiner biscuits in to sit. Anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour is perfect. Don’t leave them too long or they will swell & crack.
While the joiner biscuits are soaking up those beautiful colors, drill a 3/16″ hole in the bottom of the split balls and then paint them to serve as the middle of the flower & the base to hold the petals. You can dye these as well or paint or stain!
Once all of your pieces have dried, you are ready to assemble!
Grab some glue and form your petals by gluing them together, then to the back of the split ball base. Then glue your dowel into the small hole you drilled in the back of the split ball.
The finished product is a beautiful bouquet that will last a lifetime.
